MX5 Supercharger Kit

Currently we are jigged up for the 89-93 1600 MX5 using the BMW Mini R53 Supercharger


For a DIY kit which includes:

 

  • Plug and Play Megasquirt ECU

  • 320cc injectors

  • R53 Supercharger (used but checked)

  • Tensioners

  • Manifolds

  • Throttle relocation

  • Throttle cable

  • Cross over pipe

  • and a basetune to suit


This gives on average 145-150hp non intercooled or  160-170hp intercooled at the wheels and excellent low to midrange torque and is very suited to a street driven MX5.

Semi Forged Engines

Semi - Forged engines available for $7500 - on exchange basis.

Includes new Rings, Bearings, Forged Rods, Gasket, Seals Triple Metal Layer headgasket and light bore hone and all Labour costs.

These motors have proven to handle 400hp reliably

MX5 Turbo Packages

We have two turbo packages available for the 89-05 B6 1600 engine and the 94-05 BP 1800 Engine


All Turbo packages include:

  • Microsquirt MS2  Engine Management System with 3 bar MAP Sensor

  • 550cc or 850cc injectors - depending on power requirements

  • Cast Iron Turbo Manifold (5 year crack-free guarantee)

  • T28 or T3 Turbocharger - depending on requirements

  • Exedy Heavy Duty Clutch

  • Intercooler kit, - all turbo lines and watercooling lines

  • Custom oil drain and modification to factory sump

  • Highflow Downpipe at 2.5" Diameter

  • New Air filter, Oil Filter and Oil change

  • MX5 Specific Driveshaft loop

  • Full installation and dynotuning

 

POWER:


This depends on how much boost is run and which turbocharger used.

We recommend 220hp/220 ft lbs for the B6 engine

and

240hp/240 ft lbs  for the BP engine to ensure reliablity

 

More power is easily had with the kits - but this is around the limitations of the stock Connecting Rods
 

This makes the MX5 a complete insane bit of kit - and is LOTS o fun -  with one of our semi-forged engines and 20psi - do expect many other vehicles short of super-cars to be able to keep up with you.

We do recommend running semi-slick tyres, either Toyo R888 or Nitto NT-01's in order to have a semblence on traction and also the Wilwood Big Brake package. A good set of suspension such as BC Golds is also recommended.

Launch Control (great for shooting flames out the exhaust), Flatshift, Traction control,   Bluetooth modules,  Tablet dashes using the excellent SHADOWDASH program  (google it). We can supply and fit Wilwood Brakes kits,  BC Gold or Tein Suspension.
